It’s been another busy week for hardware announcements as the biggest brands compete for sales over the holiday period.

Today, we’re taking a look at the Dovpo Top Gear, Innokin Kroma Z and Vandy Vape Jackaroo Dual.

Dovpo Top Gear

Dovpo Top Gear specs:

Dimensions: 88.6mm*54.2mm*27mm

Materials: Aluminium alloy, carbon fibre

Battery capacity: 2x 18650 external cells

Power output: 1W-200W

Price: $169.99 (pre-order)

The Dovpo Top Gear is another reminder of the brand’s commitment to enthusiast vapers.

This new dual 18650 device has a sleek aesthetic, packed with premium materials including a CNC aluminium chassis and unique compressed carbon fibre panelling. On top of this, the Dovpo Top Gear is powered by the Evolv DNA250C, which is still one of the best performing high wattage chips on the market.

The Dovpo Top Gear’s USP is a dial found on the top of the device, which can be used to navigate the chipset. It remains to be seen if this is anything more than a gimmick, but it doesn’t seem to have added too much extra size to the mod in any case, for those who’d rather ignore it.

All in all, this looks to be a solid dual 18650 mod, with nice construction and a fantastic chipset. With Dovpo’s track record, the Top Gear should be a reliable choice for anyone wanting a premium experience.

Innokin Kroma Z

Kroma Z specs:

E-liquid capacity: 4.5ml

Battery capacity: 3000mAh internal cell

Power output: 6W-40W

Charging: USB-C

Price: TBC

Innokin has always catered to transitioning smokers and in recent times their efforts have largely been focused on miniature AIOs. The Kroma Z is Innokin’s first full sized AIO in a while and it’s certainly got our attention.

As the name would suggest, the Innokin Kroma Z takes design cues from both the Kroma-A and Kroma-R mods, combining an ergonomic grip section with industrial lines.

In addition to the sleek looks, the Inokin Kroma Z boasts a 3000mAh internal cell, 4.5mls of e-liquid capacity, full airflow control and variable wattage, with up to 40W of output. Fans of previous Innokin products will be pleased to hear that the Innokin Kroma Z is compatible with all Z coils, including those for the Zenith and Zlide tanks.

With battle tested coils, nice specs and smart design, this looks like a well rounded AIO, with plenty of versatility. The Innokin Kroma Z should be a great choice for new and intermediate vapers alike.

Vandy Vape Jackaroo

Vandy Vape Jackaroo specs:

Dimensions: 90.5mm*56.8mm*29.7mm

Power output: 5W-188W

Materials: Magnesium aluminium alloy, rubberised coating

Charging: Micro-USB

Price: $69.99 (pre-order)

The original Jackaroo was Vandy Vape’s first attempt at an IP67 rated mod and this week they’ve unveiled the Jackaroo Dual.

This is more of a variant than a brand new device, with near identical design language to its single battery sibling. The dual 18650 configuation gives the Jackaroo Dual a much higher 188W power ceiling though and will certainly give a nice boost to battery life.

Ergonomics were fantastic with the first model and this hasn’t been disregarded for the new iteration, with a pistol style grip and plenty of rubberised coating, that will result in great hand feel.

The recent slew of IP67 devices goes to show just how dominant Geekvape’s Aegis line has been but now competition is starting to heat up and the result is some incredibly well built mods.

The Vandy Vape Jackaroo Dual features magnesium aluminium alloy within its hard-wearing chassis. We’re happy to see that strong competition is promoting the innovation of materials we see being used in the vaping industry.
