I am a big fan of Geekvape products and I absolutely love the original Aegis Boost, so when I heard they were bringing out a new version I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.

The original Boost was one of the first pod devices to offer replaceable coils, variable wattage, airflow adjustment and all in a dustproof, waterproof and shockproof shell that still looked stylish.

Have Geekvape changed the game again with the Boost 2?

Well no, not really, but they have managed to improve upon what I consider perfection, which in many ways is more impressive.

Aegis Boost 2 (B60) Specifications:

  • Dimension: 25.9* 71.6 mm
  • Output Power: 5W~60W
  • Built-in 2000mAh Battery
  • 0.96″ LED Curved Display
  • E-Liquid Capacity: 5.0ml (TPD Version 2.0ml)
  • IP68 Rating
  • AS-Chip 3.0 Chipset
  • Charging Port: Type-C Port

Design & Appearance

Starting off with the overall design of the device, It doesn’t look a million miles away from the original. It has some more curved edges and a more futuristic design.

It also has more colour options than the original you’re bound so you are bound to find one that you like the look of.

The battery has been upgraded to 2000mAh – up from 1500 on the Boost 1 – and Geekvape has developed a brand new chipset for the Boost 2, with some different modes like ‘Boost’ that I’ll talk about later on.

The 2ml pod on the top is relatively unchanged and utilises the B-series coils that come in a wide range of different resistances so you’ve got lots of different options depending your preferred wattage range.

The pod no longer clips in like the original Boost, it is now held in with some strong magnets that make the whole unit feel a lot more sturdy.

You also get an adjustable airflow via a slider at the top of the pod. Filling is also much like before via a silicon plug at the front of the pod but it definitely feels easier to fill than the previous iteration and has a small flap at the top of the device to stop leaking.

I think my favourite additions to the actual design of the vape is the new placement of the charging port, which is at the front of the device underneath the display screen. Another great upgrade is that it is now a USB-C port, offering faster charging than before.

There is also the addition of a physical lock switch on the side of the device, which can be slid down to prevent any accidental firing of the device when in your pocket or bag. It’s a fantastic idea that I’d like to see incorporated more in other vapes.

The build quality is absolutely on point, with every aspect feeling solid and extremely well made. This is what we’ve come to expect from Geekvape and anything else would have been a massive shock.

How does the Aegis Boost 2 (B60) perform?

So on to performance. The kit comes with two coils, a 0.2ohm and a 0.6ohm. The 0.2ohm coil is rated at 50-58w and the 0.6 ohm coil is 15-25w, making this a very versatile device that can handle any juice from your 50/50 to your 80/20 sweet dessert flavours.

I threw every juice I could find at this device and it just handles everything like a champ. If you like to use salt nicotine or freebase 50/50 chuck in the 0.6ohm  coil and you’ll be puffing away in no time, with a nice MTL draw if you dial the airflow down.

Then again if you fancy chucking some ridiculous clouds, chuck in the 0.2, open that airflow right up and hit around 55w. It’s this versatility that was probably my favourite feature of the Boost 1 and Geekvape have improved upon that with even more options with coils and a more controllable airflow you can really dial in your perfect vape with the Boost 2.

The colour screen is intuitive and the controls easy to use, I tended to just stick to wattage mode, but you have plenty of other options for TC and other modes, all a few clicks of a button away.

I did try out the new Boost mode, a new feature for the new chipset and Geekvape claim that this mode optimises performance to keep the flavour consistent as the battery runs out. I didn’t notice a huge difference but there was a small change using this mode as the battery runs down compared to the normal power mode.

Speaking of the battery, I never had any issues getting a day’s out of it, the coils just seem to go on and on. I’m seriously impressed with Geekvape. Leaking has been all but eliminated thanks to the top airflow and they really have just improved upon everything from the Boost 1.

Overall thoughts on the Aegis Boost 2 (B60)

It’s a really hard kit to say anything negative about, everything just works and it is so well designed that it will appeal to both beginners and advanced vapers alike.

I can’t think of a single reason to not recommend this vape to every vaper under the sun!

Pros:

  • Lock button
  • Easy to use and fill
  • Improves upon everything set out in the original boost

Cons:

  • None
