Whether you’re looking to vape at high wattages, or prioritize extended battery life, a dual battery mod is the way to go. High wattage mods have come a long way over the years and now most mainstream releases can be relied upon to deliver power and accuracy for a long period of time. Today we’re taking a look at five of our current favourites.
5. Eleaf iStick Mix:
Eleaf are known for producing affordable mods and the iStick Mix has been one of their best devices, even if it flew under the radar upon release. It’s rather compact for a dual 18650 mod, with curved edges, a large firing button and very snappy power delivery. The menu system is simple but still provides accurate temperature control, making it a comfortable, user friendly experience. The low price tag means that this is a great option as a daily driver.
4. Squid Industries Double Barrel V3:
Squid Industries have built their brand on a distinctive military aesthetic and heavy construction. The Double Barrel V3 is the latest version of their flagship mods and if you enjoy heavier devices, it’s a great pick. With a thick, all metal chassis, simple VW board and unique double barrel form factor, it strikes a great balance between durability, user friendliness and great looks.
3. Vaporesso Gen:
Vaporesso have put a lot of resources into developing their chipsets and the Gen was the device that premiered their latest generation, Axon. It’s the first mid-priced board to truly rival the performance and user customisation of more expensive options, like DNA and Dicodes offerings. Pair this performance with a lightweight design and classic box mod looks, and you’re on to a winner.
2. Geekvape Aegis Legend Zeus Edition:
The Aegis Legend needs no introduction, it’s one of the best-selling dual battery mods in the world. The extremely rugged design makes it ideal for those who spend a lot of time outdoors or are prone to dropping their mods. The AS chipset is very snappy, too, so no complaints there. The Zeus edition is our favourite version of the mod, with a reduced overall weight, which makes carrying it around a little less cumbersome. Perfect for the clumsy vaper.
1. Asmodus Minikin 3:
Asmodus have always produced stellar dual 18650 mods, since the original Minikin. The Minikin 3 is a significant departure from the classic Minikin 2 design and though this raised some eyebrows on release, it’s come to be our favourite in the Minikin series. Though the shape makes it more suited for use in the left hand, this specific design choice also makes it one of the most comfortable dual cell mods on the market, with a curved back and thumb-fire button that simply feels natural in the hand. The GX chipset inside is solid as ever, with snappy power delivery and some of the best battery management in the industry. A great all-around choice.
